exclamation GraphX WebSpace
Oct 11, 2008 [10:16 PM] by Matt
Starting today, all members with 25 posts or more will have access to GraphX WebSpace. WebSpace is a new GraphX subsite that offers, as it's name suggests, online file storage. As of right now, there is no limit upload sizes or maximum storage capacity. (This may change as we see fit.) The only restriction is that you may not upload executable files that might be harmful to our server.

Additional features all coming to WebSpace soon, such as: renaming, deleting, and moving files and the ability to create folders. One thing that you should note is that WebSpace will overwrite a file if it already exists on our server. This can be used to you advantage, however, because it allows you to update an image without updating all links to it. Lastly, please keep in mind this project is still in a developmental stage.

exclamation Updates to GraphX Gallery Soon
Jul 16, 2008 [06:46 PM] by Matt
Last month we launched GraphX Gallery, a subsite of GraphX Service that offers free wallpaper made by the GraphX Team. Since then, the Gallery has not seen much change (and therefore improvement). Improvement is much needed, however, since GXG is (currently) a very basic site. We do have plans to further develop GXG, though. Just to give you a preview, here is what's in the making.

Search & Sorting

All good galleries have both a way to search through the items and a way to sort them in convenient ways. For this reason, we will be adding these features to GXG in the near future. They are not only helpful, but almost essential.

Comments

Ever visit the Gallery and see a wallpaper you really like, but have no way of contacting the author to say "good job"? Well, you will have a way soon. Again, we understand that any decent gallery has a comments system, so we're on it.

Rating System

To go along with the new comments system, we'll be developing a rating system. With this and the new sort method, you'll be able to see all the top rated wallpapers at a glance!

User-submitted Section

Soon you'll be able to submit your own wallpaper to GXG to share with other members! These wallpapers can be creations of your own or just items in your collection.

So when can you expect all of this? August. We don't have a specific date to give you yet, but GXG 2.0 (if you will) will be released sometime in August. Check back here for updates as we'll be giving you a more in-depth preview later.

exclamation Entire Site Widened
Jul 16, 2008 [05:29 PM] by Matt
No, it's not just you.

After some thought, we have decided to widen the entire site from 900 pixels to 1000 pixels. Why? Usability. It's much easier and convenient to navigate a site without having to scroll as much. This change shouldn't force anyone to scroll horizontally either. The smallest common screen resolution, SVGA (800x600 pixels), was already not supported with the old 900 pixel width, so widening the site to 1000 pixels won't do any further damage. Also, the next screen resolution up, XGA (1024x768 pixels), is still supported since 1000 is just under 1024. Wink

xx GraphX Team Member WinSo
Jul 09, 2008 [09:48 PM] by JM
We wanted to let everyone know, if they didn't notice the user color change, that WinSo has resigned from her post, as one of our GraphX Team Members.

She regrets having to leave, but a combination of work, life, and school has made it hard for her to keep up here.

We wish her the best, and hope to see her back here one day.

Smiley
